Spectator Contest!
While our honoured GUESTS are busy drawing their FINAL entries, we will be holding a mini-contest for Spectators!
There have been many Banquets in the past, each with fewer winners than losers. Did your character play a part in a Banquet long ago?
Spectators, your task is to create and design a former dinner guest from a past Banquet! Have fun with it! Maybe you’d like to dress up an OC in period wear for funsies, or use this opportunity to try out some character concepts?
All In Good Taste
Now, here is the main course: In addition to your character sheet, you must tell the story of how your guest won or lost their seat at the table in 300 words or less.
- The story doesn’t have to be complicated — it can be a couple lines explaining how your guest lost the riddle portion of the Banquet and was subsequently eaten by the winners, or how your guest won that Banquet by murdering their opponent with a spoon, etc. Be as creative, clever, brutal, shocking, evil, or ruthless as you can, within limits.
- Non-artists can compete as well! However, in place of artwork, writers must tell the story of their guest in 3000 words or less, but also include stats and description of their character, which will not be included towards the final wordcount.
- Adopts, artwork done on bases, or commissioned artwork will not be accepted — prizes must go to the original creator. Redrawing an adopt is fine, so long as it is redrawn in your own style.
- That said– writers may include artwork, including base edits or commissioned work, that they did not create themselves, but the piece will not count towards a final score.
-
Entries utilizing AI will NOT BE ACCEPTED.
- All rules for character creation still apply, see the rules here.
- Entry restrictions still apply, see the FAQ here.
- Please submit your final entry here. Entries that are not submitted by this form will NOT count.
Judging
Judges are looking for originality, cleverness, clarity, style, and a logical conclusion. Grammar and spelling will also count towards a final score. Artwork must look finished, do your best!
Here is an optional character sheet template for your uses.
Deadline for submissions is SEPTEMBER 1st, 2025.
